Break not taken

If an employee works through their break and does not take it, the break can be marked as not taken.

Time Registration for Payroll

Tracelink’s time registration is often used to record the time employees have worked, allowing a report to be generated for the payroll system and ensuring accurate payroll payments. Each user in Tracelink is therefore assigned a payroll profile, where their working hours, start and end times, and breaks are defined. Up to three breaks can be defined, which are automatically deducted from the employee’s working time, ensuring that employees are not paid for time spent on breaks.

No break taken

There may be several reasons why a break is not taken. If an employee works through their scheduled break and does not take it at all, the break can be marked as not taken, ensuring that the employee receives the correct pay.

Mark as “Not taken”

The break can be marked as “not taken” either by an administrator or by the user themselves:
  • An administrator can, under Registrations by date, tick the boxes “Break 1 not taken”, “Break 2 not taken” or “Break 3 not taken” if the breaks were not taken. This ensures that the break is not deducted from the user’s working time.
  • If users should be able to mark a break as not taken themselves, this must be enabled on the user’s payroll profile under the “Breaks” tab. The employee can then mark in their time registrations whether they have taken their break or not.

Please note

If you already have a customization that allows you to register whether a break was taken, you should not use the “Break not taken” feature. If you would like to switch to “Break not taken”, please contact Tracelink Support.
